Clints Well Campground is located just a hop skip and a jump from the town with the same name. Clints Well Campground makes for a good place to camp if you want to check out the north side of the Mogollon Rim Region. Several small lakes are within a couple dozen miles including Blue Ridge Reservoir for those of you who are fishing folk. For a fishing and hiking challenge, try the West Clear Creek Wilderness which requires a hike down into the canyon with spectacular views of 800' cliffs. The water runs cold and the fish can get fat and sassy. To reach the wilderness travel south on S.R. 87 to F.R. 142 take a right at the forest road and take any of the forest roads marked 142B 142C 142D 142E 142F or F.R. 611. head north to the canyon. Most of the roads reqiure a high clearance vehicle. Be prepared and bring water and other backpacking essentials if you decide to descend into the canyon. Watch for flash flood warnings also. The town of Clints Well has a general store a gas station and a restaurant.
