Campground Description

Canyon Vista Campground is situated 6 miles down Lake Mary Road on the left. Canyon Vista is a great place to camp is you are looking to explore Walnut Canyon to the north of the campground or for those looking for a place to overnight while hiking the Arizona Trail. Canyon Vista is also a good place to start if all of the campgrounds are booked up on the busy holiday weekends during summer along with Lake View, Pine Grove, and Ashurst Lake and Forked Pine campgrounds

There are 14 campsites with fire rings, vault toilets and cooking grills. The closest fishing and boating are at Lower Lake Mary. If Lower Lake Mary is empty, try Upper Lake Mary just East of Lower Lake Mary.

Fishing Information 

There are several places to fish nearby including Lower Lake Mary. Usually during the warmer months, Lower Lake Mary will be empty. Upper Lake mary is just up the road. Toward the East end of Upper Lake Mary is the turnoff to Ashurst Lake.

Nearby Hiking

The Scenic Arizona Trail runs right through the campground and takes you 6 miles to Marshall lake and offers splendid views of the San Francisco Peaks and Walnut Canyon.

Just west of the campground is Sandy's Canyon Trailhead parking area which will connect you to the Arizona Trail

Directions

From Flagstaff, Take the I-17 south to Lake Mary Road. Travel east on Lake Mary Road for 6 miles until you reach the Campground.
