Alpine Divide Campground

Alpine Divide Campground is situated just short of four miles away from the quaint town of Alpine on U.S. Route 191 at an elevation of 8479'. Summer temperatures are not what you would expect from an Arizona campground and the scenery is outstanding. Local wildlife fill the area including elk, geese and squirrels that seem to be everywhere, my dog had a blast trying to chase them all.

Alpine Divide seems to fill rather quickly over the weekends, so arrive early to stake out your site. This is a great campground to set up your base camp to explore the Escudilla Mountain, the second highest peak in the White Mountains.

Limited services are available in Alpine. Full services are available in Springerville and Eagar.

For those wishing to fish, Luna Lake is only a few miles east of Alpine and offers rainbow trout and the distinctive grayling. Luna Lake boasts a store and boat rentals.

Directions

From Alpine travel north on U.S. Route 191 3.7 miles to campground entrance.
