Upper Log Road Campground is located on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. A nice dirt road (depending on which route you take) leads you towards the North Fork of the White River. Remember to get your camping and fishing permits at Hon-Dah or McNary before you head in. Permits are required on the Fort Apache Reservation.

Fishing for rainbow trout here is o.k. but not fantastic. The river flows relatively slow and luck plays an important role in catching fish.

Directions

From Hawley Lake Road and the S.R. 260 drive south 4 miles to Reservation Route R76. You will reach the river in about 4 miles. Once you cross the river you have 2.3 miles to the campgrounds. If you continue on this road you will reach Lower Log Campground and eventually come out on S.R. 73
