Apache Trout Campground is the most recent addition to the campgrounds at Big Lake. 124 campsites will occupy
the new campground of which 41 will have full hookups. Also,
24 campsites will be ADA compliant for those with disabilities.
A brand new shower facility will be built on site as well
as a dump station for those camping with RV's . Spread throughout the campground will
be 10 two table ramadas for small groups to gather.
One
new amenity at Big Lake is two group campsites, Group site A will be
for groups up to 100 people and 50 vehicles. The 2009 rate is $350 per night. Group site B will be
for groups up to 50 people and 25 vehicles. The 2009 rate is $175 per night.

Directions
From
Springerville travel west 5 miles to the Big Lake turnoff
(AZ261). Travel up the mountain 18 miles to FR 113 and turn
left. Travel 2 miles to the Big Lake entrance (FR115) and
turn right. Travel past the country store and all of the adjacent campgrounds. Apache Trout Campground is the last campground in the Big Lake Recreation Area.
Note:
Additional Camp Units:
Additional camp unit fees are collected at the campground. The reservation company does not collect additional camp units fees. Additional camp unit fees are not subject to interagency/ Senior pass discounts unless they own their own pass.
Showers / Dump Stations / Trash Receptacles will only be allowed by registered guest only. Unregistered guest will be referred to the Big Lake Dump Station and Shower Facility.
Individual sites in Group A & B will only be rented as over flow to main campground and only if there are no Reservations.
Interagency / Senior discount passes will be honored for ½ the camp fee + surcharges of utilities. Pass will not be honored for group site rentals or other services
